We publish original fiction, poetry, and essays out of a small office in Guaratinguetá, and keep a bookshop by the door for the people who walk in and want to leave with a book in their hand.
LITERASAS EDICAO DE LIVROS was founded in February 2026 in Guaratinguetá, in the Vale do Paraíba region of São Paulo state. We are a small independent press with a narrow list and a preference for books that reward a second reading.
Our list runs across original fiction, essays, and poetry, published in trade paperback and a limited number of hardbacks each year. Every title is developed in-house, from manuscript reading through structural editing, typesetting, and print.
At the front of the office we keep a small bookshop, open on weekday afternoons and Saturdays, stocking our own list alongside books from a handful of presses we admire. Anyone can walk in and ask for a recommendation. That is part of how a small press earns its readers.

Every submission is read by the editorial team. Selection is done in-house, on the strength of the writing, not by algorithm or trend.
Structural, line, and copy work are handled together with the author over months, not weeks, so the book leaves the desk finished.
Typesetting, cover design, and proof supervision are all coordinated internally, with modest print runs planned to be kept in print.
We sell through our own bookshop and direct channel, and through a small network of independent booksellers we work with by name.
